Unless otherwise requested, we shoot video in 4K with the 3840 x 2160 resolution, then export with the best aspect ratio and resolution for the social media platforms you plan to post to.

Aspect ratio, resolution + video length

  • The aspect ratio of an image or video is the ratio of the width to height (x:y).
  • Resolution is measured by the total number of pixels shown on a phone, tablet, computer or television screen. (Higher resolution means  more pixels and a sharper image.)
  • Optimal video length is typically much shorter than the maximum allowed. The goal should be to get your point across in as short as possible, while keeping potential viewers excited for your next post!

Instagram Reels

An aspect ratio of 9:16 is the optimal size for Instagram reels and will make sure your content looks great on all devices, from mobile devices to desktop computers. Reelc can be up to 60-seconds long, but engagement is typically highest on reels closer to 8-seconds.

TikTok Videos

TikTok videos can be 0.01 seconds up to 10:00 minutes. The standard aspect ratio is 9:16 for TikTok. This aspect ratio provides the best visual experience. 1:1 is also supported, but it won't be as immersive as filling up the entire screen.

Facebook

Optimal video length is between 1-2 minutes, although shorter videos can also be successful. For optimal viewing experience on both desktop and mobile devices, Facebook recommends uploading videos with vertical resolutions such as 4:5 or 9:16 (vertical), or 1:1 (square) aspect ratios.

LinkedIn Video

The most common aspect ratios used on LinkedIn are 1:1 (square) and 16:9 (landscape). The maximum is 1920 x 1920 pixels. For landscape videos, the maximum is 1920 x 1080 pixels. Video should not exceed 30MB.

Twitter Video

The best resolution and aspect ratio for Twitter videos is 1:2.39 and 2.39:1. The maximum resolution is either 1920×1200 or 1200×1920 based on video orientation. Additionally, the recommended size for square videos should be 1:1 ratio (1200 x 1200 pixels).

YouTube Shorts

Overall, the best aspect ratio for YouTube Shorts is 9:16 with a resolution of 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels and no longer than 60 seconds in length.

16:9 YouTube Video

YouTube recommends a maximum 4K resolution of 2160p (2160x3840). The ideal aspect ratio for YouTube videos is 16:9, and the size limit for uploads is 128 GB.

Discovery Call

Before hiring me to produce professional videos for your social media accounts, let's schedule a 10-minute discovery video call. This short video call allows us to get to know each other and see if working together is a good idea. We can discuss any questions and ensure I'm the right fit for your project. I can refer you to another videographer if we aren't a match. During our call, we can also discuss creating a tailored video package according to your needs.

Pre-Production

Pre-Production

Video pre-production for your project's initial preparation and planning phase involves creating questions/topics you want to discuss in video clips, selecting a location, video formats, aspect ratios, and equipment. In addition, we will work with you during pre-production to create a shooting schedule and post-production plans.

Production

Production

Once the pre-production phase is complete, we will begin production of your video project. Depending on how many clips you want, we can knock out all videography in as little as 1-2 hours. If you bring 5-6 outfits (shirts/jackets), you can change outfits a few times while I change lighting colors to get different styles for your video clips. (Variety helps keep audience interest). During this time, I will work with you on set to capture all necessary shots and record all audio/visual elements correctly. Most social platforms prefer video clips that are 8-60 seconds max.

Post-Production

Post-Production

I'll spend the next weeks viewing, editing, and finishing video clips during post-production. I apply noise reduction and normalize audio levels, then add compression and adjust the equalization if needed. I use AI to create hundreds of cuts, removing awkward pauses, filler words and dead air. I export the cuts via XML (for multi-cam footage) or EDL (for single-cam). Then I apply the XML/EDL file to the audio-corrected video files and add transitions, zoom-in/out, manual focus, color-correction and color-grading to make everything look professional.

Delivery

After the post-production stage is complete, we upload your professionally edited 8-60 second video clips to Google Drive, DropBox or your preferred cloud storage.
